Power in Dance will be hosting the Betty Rox Masterclass on the weekend of the 16 to the 18 March in Waterfall Midrand.

Betty Rox Originates from the islands of Belize and Jamaica, and has created a name for herself as an international dancer and instructor. Her dance and choreography credits include, Rihanna, Jamie Foxx, Tweet, Missy, Bomba Estereo, Will Smith, Keri Hilson, Tierra Mari, Kendrick Lamar and more. Not to mention her list of international recording artist such as Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Daddy Yankee, Mr Vegas, Kranium, Wizkid, Runtown and the list goes on.

Given Betty Rox’s experience in the industry, she has been invited to teach and train dancers worldwide at several dance workshops, competitions, and conferences. She also uses her talents to give back to her country. Hosting several free workshops to raise money for the dance companies in Belize. She is the 3rd Generation of Dancers and Choreographers in her family. At a young age her family migrated to Los Angeles, CA.
As she developed her passion for dance she trained in Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, African, Dancehall, and Soca dance.

Betty Rox started her professional dance career at the age of 17, when she choreographed a Cheer-Dance routine for a national “Burger King” commercial. Shortly after graduating from senior high school, she made her way to the professional dance scene. Dancing for recording artist, movies, commercials and live shows.
While incorporating her unique style of Caribbean dancing in her auditions, she gained the attention of several Choreographers and Directors. This then gave her the opportunity to work with; Fatima Robinson, Lisette Bustamante, Shane Sparks, Darrin Henson, Anthony Burrell, Frank Gatson and more. She is featured in several films, music videos, live performances and tours.

Due to her cultural background, she has always gravitated to artist from the Caribbean. She choreographed her first tour for Trinidad native “Ms Triniti” as the opening act for Sean Paul. Since then she has formed a versatile dance crew called the Roxstarz. They have collectively been featured and performed with several international Dancehall, Soca, African and Latin artist.

Most recently Betty Rox has become one of the few clothing designers to create fashionable deigns for Caribbean women. Her clothing line Caribbean Gyrlz is being worn  by many artist and dancers worldwide.
